SIX framed prints by artist Eric Ravilious have been unveiled in Eastbourne Hospital’s staff refectory as part of a project to support staff wellbeing.

The Friends of Eastbourne Hospital purchased the prints from Towner Eastbourne to give staff local artwork to enjoy during their breaks.

Eastbourne MP Josh Babarinde OBE unveiled the collection on Tuesday, October 6, alongside Mayor Councillor Margaret Bannister, Friends chairman Harry Walmsley and trustee Terry Henson, who coordinated the project.

Ms Henson said: “Art in a hospital environment benefits everyone. But this particular project focused specifically on the welfare of staff who use the refectory.

“Hopefully, during their break time, they will enjoy looking at the iconic local images immortalised by the Eastbourne artist Eric Ravilious.”

The Friends raise money for hospital equipment and initiatives supporting staff, with two major projects this year benefiting the ophthalmology and cardiology departments.
