EASTBOURNE’S ‘Singing Bus Driver’ Iain Strachan has been shortlisted for Top National Bus Driver at the UK Bus Awards 2026.
The Stagecoach South East driver, who joined the company in 2018, is known for bringing songs, humour and a friendly welcome to passengers across Eastbourne and Bexhill.
His efforts have earned him a 52-page folder of customer compliments, alongside 16 official commendations. One passenger described his vehicle as ‘the happy bus’.
Iain said: “If I can make someone smile, have a chat or brighten their day with a song, then that makes my day too.”
He is now in the running for the Chris Moyes Memorial Award for Top National Bus Driver.
