EASTBOURNE Youth Radio (EYR) returns for a very special 25th anniversary year from 18th–21st November 2025 on 87.7FM and online at www.eyr.org.uk
Organised by Eastbourne Education Business Partnership and broadcast from studios at East Sussex College in Eastbourne, EYR will see students aged 5-19 from local schools present their radio shows covering a wide range of topics – much of it live.
A number of past EYR alumni will also be back in the studios recounting their career journeys and achievements in the fields of radio broadcasting, TV, journalism and film – including one BAFTA!
This year’s broadcast coincides once again with several notable events. Namely, Anti-Bullying Week, Global Entrepreneurship Week, UK Parliament Week and finally BBC Children in Need. Individual programmes will cover all of these during the packed 4-day schedule.

EYR are grateful to receive financial support again from the Eastbourne & Lewes District Community Safety Partnership in recognition of our Anti-Bullying Week work. This will include discussing issues around knife crimes with Sussex Police. Holding Space and MyLifeMe (a new App) will be providing important information and support around mental health and wellbeing.
Looking ahead to the packed schedule, Edwards and VACGEN will both be featuring engineering and apprenticeships and Southern Water are back to raise awareness of ‘Unflushables’!
Trafalgar Theatres will be talking about the performing arts and their up-coming shows and Lansdowne Hotel will be promoting hospitality. The Enterprise Shopping Centre and Up Garden & Country Store will no doubt be in festive mood. Switchplane will be reflecting on another successful Digi-Fest and the team from Radio DGH will be on the shout out for more volunteers.
EYR is all about enabling young people to research, produce, present and perform their own material in association with community partners for a family audience. From this they will learn and develop a whole range of skills that they will find helpful in future life.
