AN 11-year-old from Eastbourne is preparing for a big change by cutting off his long hair to help children who have lost theirs through cancer treatment.
Ziggy, who has been growing his hair for around four years, has decided to donate his locks to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that creates real hair wigs for children and young people.
He explained on his GoFundMe fundraising page: “My name is Ziggy. I’m 11 years old. I have been growing my hair for around 4 years and now I want to cut it. Instead of just throwing away my hair, I am going to donate it to The Little Princess Trust to help fund a real hair wig for a child who has unfortunately lost their hair to cancer.”
His hair, which measures about 20 inches long and is described as ‘very thick with beautiful curls’, will be transformed into a wig for a child in need.
Ziggy admitted the haircut will be a big change for him, but he said he knows ‘it’ll make a big difference.’
The Little Princess Trust provides thousands of wigs each year to children and young people with cancer, relying on hair donations and fundraising to continue their work.
