A SMALL salon on South Street is quietly becoming a place of opportunity for women in Eastbourne, offering more than just treatments to its growing number of clients.

At Bodiology Sussex, owner Darice has built a team environment focused on helping women develop their own careers, at a time when many are facing uncertainty in the job market.

Based at 16 South Street, the salon has gradually expanded through word of mouth, recently welcoming a new team member to support increasing demand. Behind that growth is a wider effort to create a supportive space where staff are encouraged to build their confidence, skills and long term goals.

Several members of the team have joined the salon while navigating personal or professional challenges and are now working towards establishing themselves within the beauty industry. Darice has focused on giving them the flexibility and encouragement to grow, with an emphasis on collaboration rather than competition.

Clients have also become part of that atmosphere, with many returning not only for treatments but for the sense of community the salon has developed.

At a time when stable employment can be difficult to find, spaces that support self employment and skill building are becoming increasingly important. The team at Bodiology Sussex say they hope their approach shows that setbacks do not have to define long term prospects.

The salon is aiming to provide more opportunities for local women looking to build careers for themselves while contributing to a positive, community focused environment in Eastbourne.
