EASTBOURNE Borough Women completed a league and cup double this season as they sealed back-to-back league titles.
It’s not just consecutive promotions for The Sports, but also doing it unbeaten, having not lost a league game since October 2024.
That form has seen them rise up to the Fifth tier of Women’s football for 2026/27, taking their place alongside the likes of Brentford and Millwall Lionesses in the London & South East Premier Division.
Chris Day’s side finished the season four points clear of second-place Saltdean United, having won 15 and drawn three of their 18 league games, scoring the most goals (65) whilst also conceding the fewest goals (16).
It has been a full team effort for Borough, with 15 different goal scorers across the season, whilst Molly Hil and Charlotte Gurr both scored over 20 goals this season.
For Gurr, it has been a momentous campaign which has seen the Borough playmaker also represent England in Futsal, including the Futsal Women’s World Cup and UEFA Qualifiers.
The Women wrapped up the London & South East Division One South title with a 4-1 win over Montpelier Villa at Connect Management Stadium.
However, they didn’t have things their own way as they went into half-time trailing courtesy of Chloe Debaes’ effort.
But Day’s side responded – with Gurr scoring a hat-trick before Megan Griffiths completed the comeback with a long-range strike late on to wrap up the victory.
And they followed that league success with cup glory after beating Division One North champions Hammersmith in the London & South East League Trophy.
In sweltering conditions at Dorking Wanderers’ Meadowbank Stadium, Borough went behind courtesy of Ashton Brackin’s early effort. But they were soon level, with Hill scoring a fine individual goal to equalise before half-time.
With nothing to separate the teams in the second period, the Final went to penalties where Sophia Moule made two great saves to give Borough a 4-3 win.
Since forming just three years ago, the Sports have now secured back-to-back promotions to compete in the fifth tier next season.

Sarah Whiting, a loyal Eastbourne Borough fan, has won a week-long all-inclusive holiday for two in Barbados after entering the club’s ‘Boro to Barbados’ competition.
All she had to do was post a photo of herself wearing the Boro shirt on social media. The prize came through a new partnership with the Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lord’s Castle All-Inclusive Resort.
