FIREFIGHTERS tackled a van blaze overnight in Eastbourne – the second vehicle fire on the road within a matter of weeks.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Wartling Road and Winchelsea Road at around 12.45am, where a van was found on fire.
One fire appliance from Eastbourne attended the incident and extinguished the blaze.
The incident is the second suspected vehicle arson at the location in recent weeks. The road was also the scene of another car fire on 7th June.
Sussex Police officers attended the scene and were carrying out enquiries, including checking nearby CCTV footage and speaking to potential witnesses.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area or who may have captured footage on CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras is urged to contact Sussex Police.
