A VAN fire at a premises in Eastbourne is believed to have been started deliberately.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called to Fort Road at 10.39pm on September 9.
Two fire engines from Eastbourne attended, with crews extinguishing the blaze by 11.24pm.
No injuries were reported and police also attended the scene.
The owner of the van, Eastbourne Tyre Company, stated on social media: “This isn’t just a van. It’s one of the vehicles our team uses every day to attend customers, respond to breakdowns and keep people safely on the road. Someone has deliberately caused significant damage to our business, and we are absolutely fuming. We’ve put together the footage and photos we have of the incident and the aftermath.”
A Sussex Police spokesperson said: “No injuries have been reported, and no arrests have been made at this time. The fire is being treated as suspicious, and officers are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry in an ongoing investigation.”
