FOUR fire engines were called to tackle a house fire in Rosebery Avenue, Eastbourne this afternoon (2 November).
Emergency services were alerted at around 3.34pm, and crews wearing breathing apparatus fought the blaze using a hose reel jet and a main jet.
Two dogs were rescued safely from the property by firefighters.
The Ambulance Service also attended the scene, while fire crews worked to bring the situation under control.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is expected to take place once the area has been made safe.
