A FAMILIAR sight along Eastbourne’s seafront is returning this spring, but with an added element designed to keep younger passengers engaged from start to finish.
Each Dotto Train will carry a small treasure chest filled with prizes, forming the centrepiece of a simple onboard activity aimed at children. To take part, passengers are given a map featuring a series of questions. By working through them, children can identify answers and collect the first letter of each, gradually building a code.
Once completed, the code can be shared with the Dotto team to unlock the contents of the treasure chest.

The activity is intended to encourage observation and participation during the journey, bringing an extra layer of entertainment for families to enjoy together while travelling along the seafront.
The Dotto Train returns to Eastbourne from 28 March 2026, running along its usual coastal route and stopping at key points including the pier, harbour and western end of the promenade. As in previous years, passengers can hop on and off throughout the day.
While the train itself remains unchanged, the addition of the treasure map and chest introduces a new reason for children to stay engaged throughout the journey, with a small reward waiting at the end for those who complete the challenge.
