THE Birchwood Group has lent its support to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice by supplying a brand-new vehicle, allowing carers to continue their work across the area.
Omoda, a vehicle brand which arrived on UK shores late last year, is one of a number of Chinese vehicles taking on the likes of Tesla and BYD.
Birchwood opened one of the first UK Omoda dealerships in September 2024 on Lottbridge Drove in Eastbourne.
It has now supplied an ‘Omeda 5’, worth £27,000, to the hospice which will be used by care providers who provide vital home visits and support.
A spokesperson from Birchwood Group said: “This partnership helps the hospice team continue their amazing work, providing compassionate care and support to those who need it most. Together, we’re driving positive change in our community.”
The parent company of Omoda in China, Chery Automobile Co. Ltd, reports that it has become the top exporter of Chinese passenger vehicles since 2003. The company exported 269,154 vehicles in 2021, 451,337 vehicles in 2022 and 937,148 in 2023.
