ARMED police descended on Langney Rise in Eastbourne this morning (4 December) as part of a planned counter-terror operation which has led to the arrest of a man.
Residents reported seeing around six police vans arriving in the street as heavily armed officers entered a property. Locals described a large police presence, with officers wearing tactical gear moving quickly into the building.
Counter Terrorism Policing South East later confirmed the incident formed part of an ongoing investigation.
A spokesperson said: “Officers are currently in Langney Rise, Eastbourne, as part of a planned operation in which a man has been arrested. Further details will be issued in due course.”
